Savings allow us to cover our expenses during a rainy day, go on holidays with friends, or buy that new car we’ve always dreamed of. So what’s the best way to save and how can we save effectively? Well, my belief is that we need a purpose for saving. Saving for the sake of saving often doesn’t work. We need to be motivated by the result of saving. What motivates you to save? Secondly, we need to live within our means, which means spending less than we earn. Credit cards are no help when trying to save – they only make things work. To figure out how much you can save, you need to build a simple household budget.
